My History of dealing with Hypertension.

Readers please note that I have no medical experience and only list my own experiences with Hypertension for information.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I served for 30 years as a Police Officer, retiring in the rank of Superintendent on 13th January 1983. I have always enjoyed an active healthy life and a Health check immediately before retirement pronounced me fit and healthy with no ailments.

THEN in 1988 my GP informed me that I had Hypertension. At the time I was a member of BUPA and my GP arranged for me to be examined. This confirmed the diagnosis and I was prescribed Innovace (20mg) and Modurate (10mg).tablets. I took these daily.

After imbibing for a few weeks, I felt that I had a balance problem, as, when out walking, I would unaccountably suddenly take a step to the side.

Over the next 2 years I gradually reduced my intake of Innovace until eventually I was taking 5 mg, and at the same time reduced Moduret to 5 mg.

This continued until around 2004 when I experienced pain quite frequently in my feet and ankles. Eventually I suffered for a whole week, could not walk, and was confined to bed. On later consulting my GP he pronounced that I was suffering from GOUT and that this had been caused by the Moduret Tablets I had been ingesting for the past 20 years. He advised that I stop taking Moduret and Innovace while I followed a course of tablets for treatment of the Gout.

At this time I made a search of the Internet for any possible solution. I discovered the system “Breatheasy”. That system had an immediate effect in reducing my Blood Pressure (see recorded readings within my article). My BP had been as high as 220/110 – and now – September, 2008, my Blood Pressure is in the NORMAL Range (generally about 120/85 withpulse 67) I last used Breatheasy on 28th March, 2008.
