My History of dealing with Hypertension.

Readers please note that I have no medical experience and only list my own experiences with Hypertension for information.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I served for 30 years as a Police Officer, retiring in the rank of Superintendent on 13th January 1983. I have always enjoyed an active healthy life and a Health check immediately before retirement pronounced me fit and healthy with no ailments.

THEN in 1988 my GP informed me that I had Hypertension. At the time I was a member of BUPA and my GP arranged for me to be examined. This confirmed the diagnosis and I was prescribed Innovace (20mg) and Modurate (10mg).tablets. I took these daily.

After imbibing for a few weeks, I felt that I had a balance problem, as, when out walking, I would unaccountably suddenly take a step to the side.

Over the next 2 years I gradually reduced my intake of Innovace until eventually I was taking 5 mg, and at the same time reduced Moduret to 5 mg.

This continued until around 2004 when I experienced pain quite frequently in my feet and ankles. Eventually I suffered for a whole week, could not walk, and was confined to bed. On later consulting my GP he pronounced that I was suffering from GOUT and that this had been caused by the Moduret Tablets I had been ingesting for the past 20 years. He advised that I stop taking Moduret and Innovace while I followed a course of tablets for treatment of the Gout.

At this time I made a search of the Internet for any possible solution. I discovered the system “Breatheasy”. That system had an immediate effect in reducing my Blood Pressure (see recorded readings within my article). My BP had been as high as 220/110 – and now – September, 2008, my Blood Pressure is in the NORMAL Range (generally about 120/85 withpulse 67) I last used Breatheasy on 28th March, 2008.

MP3,EASY-PEASY BREATHEASY

28th March, 2008.

Having used Breatheasy regularly for 2 years, I decided to check whether or not my BP would remain at regular and Normal level without use of Breatheasy. I stopped use of Breatheasy on 28th March, 2008. Since then BP has remained steady and at normal levels. BUT APPEARED TO PRODUCE ASSOCIATED BREATHING PROBLEMS. In addition,(in Mid September, 2008) I developed urinary problems which required insertion of a catheter. This may have had some effect. I am currently recovering from a week in Hosoital - during which blood tests etc., discovered NOTHING, I shall, on recovery post my experiences, Currently under the supervision of my Doctor. THE GOOD NEWS - Blood Pressure at 1000 this morning 11th October,2008, was 140/84 with pulse60, while today, 9th November, 2008 I am clearly recovering from my Prostate/Urinary problems and becoming active again. .
________________________________

in addition to the above, in March, 2008, I bought an MP3 Player and transferred (the Format requires to be changed to MP3 Format) all 30 tracks of Breatheasy - Classical and Ambient - to my 1Gb MP3 Player. With soft ear pieces that are "hooked" over the ear (in preference to the "In Ear" type - which I could never keep in) my enjoyment of Breatheasy was enhanced. I have a small, battery powered Clip on Type and very convenient, MP3 Player,(bought from Maplin for about £35) that I can take everywhere and play when I wish. In addition to Breatheasy, I also have some "Meditation" (See http://www.centerpointe.com/) sounds on myMP3 which I find most relaxing.

Thank you Breatheasy for solving my BP problems as, to boot, I now take no Pharmaceutical Preparations at all, apart from one Cod Liver Oil capule each day to ward off Arthritus (None evident so far). The lowered BP effect on the other organs in my body must be most beneficial.

I RECOMMEND THAT YOU LISTEN TO BREATHEASY AT LEAST ONCE EACH WEEK.

Be healthy, yours sincerely, William Reid

As a safeguard, I intend, should there be any elevation of my BP, to re-start using Breatheasdy

NEW SOUNDS

The creator of Breatheasy, David O'Hara. has recently released upgraded sounds called Ambience and a new Classical CD. There are 3 Cd's of each totalling 30 tracks. I copied (ripped) the CD's into MP3 Format and now have all 30 tracks on my 1 Gb MP3 Player. It is so small and convenient to use whether at home or away from home.

The new sounds are excellent and make it so easy to relax while breathing in accord with the Inhale and Exhale sounds.

I much prefer these sounds to the sounds on the original CD's

My Blood Pressure at 1112 today 28 Mar, 2008, was 128/89 with pulse 66

POSTING 14 December, 2007

Today - 14th December, 2007 - my monitor readings were - 1009 118/91 60, 1130 118/84 60, 1555 122/74 60 and these were FIRST TIME readings taken immediately I sat down without first resting. This was a fairly typical day for me including walking two miles into town and shopping with my wife.

After the adverse effects of pharmaceutical drugs recommended by my GP - detailed within - I HAVE NOT used any pharmaceutical preparations at all. I now rely solely on Breatheasy.

Perusal of my monitor readings - listed above and on www.ochils2.blogspot.com - prove that regular use of Breatheasy reduced my Hypertension.

I have experimented with Breatheasy at different times of the day and I found that use for 15 minutes each day between 0900 and 1200 appeared to be the most beneficial time of use. This may have something to do with blood circulation after rising from bed.

I have also experimented with different Breathing Rates and found that the original Breatheasy breathing rate of 7 breaths per minute was the most benficial for me.

NOTE: After ONE YEAR of Daily use of Breatheasy my BP is consistently in 120/85 range when taking Pressure immediately I sit down and without first resting eg:-.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Reader, 1st October, 2008

This will be my FINAL POSTING to website HYPERTENSION as I now consider that using Breatheasy for over two years has CURED my Hypertention.
----------------------------------------------------

I have, since 28th March, 2008, been enjoying a level of Hyperetension that is considered to be in the “Normal” Range. (See record of Blood pressure readings herein and at www.ochils2.blogspot.com.)

When taking BP readings I normally sit down, rest and relax for at least 10 minutes before taking the reading. If I have not rested properly, occasionally my BP gets up to 170 with Diastolic of 140. (These do not trouble me as they are acceptable after exercise and are within an acceptable Range) When an initial higher reading is recorded, I do not panic and just rest for another 10 minutes, then take the reading again. Usually at the later reading, my BP has fallen to what is considered to be normal.

I advise that you keep a record of your own BP readings and, from these readings, make your own assessment of progress with Hypertension control.

For myself, after six months of NOT USING Breatheasy, or any other BP control system, I consider myself to be CURED and do not intend using Breatheasy again, UNLESS, of course my BP should ever start to rise again.

The beneficial effect of low and normal BP on all of the Organs and Blood Vessels in my body must be quite significant.
Sincerely, William Reid

In my opinion this posting by Dr John R.Lee is "down to earth", factual and exposes some myths re PharmaceuticalMedicines.
